Visiting a new healthcare provider can feel a little uncertain — but at Summit View Primary Care, our goal is to make you feel comfortable, confident, and completely cared for from the moment you reach out.
Whether you’re coming in for a wellness check, a chronic issue, or something urgent, here’s what you can expect at your first visit with us.
- Scheduling Your Appointment
While online scheduling will be available soon, for now the best way to book is by giving us a call at 302-589-0019. When you make your appointment, we’ll send out a simple intake form to complete via text or email. It’s quick and easy — but if you have any trouble, we’re happy to help you finish it in person during your visit.
- What to Bring With You
Before your appointment, please gather:
- Your insurance card and photo ID (soon you’ll be able to upload these to our patient portal)
- A current list of medications, including any changes
- Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss
Bringing this information helps us better understand your health and give you the most personalized care possible.
- When You Arrive
You don’t need to arrive early — just show up right at your scheduled time. We pride ourselves on little to no wait time in our office.
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by a cozy, comfortable waiting area, complete with snacks and coffee or tea to help you feel at home. Our goal is to make your experience as relaxed and easy as possible from the very start.
- During Your Visit
Your time with the provider typically lasts 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your needs. We believe in listening first — so you’ll never feel rushed or interrupted. Every concern matters here.
We’ll talk through each issue in depth:
- When did it start?
- What makes it worse?
- What makes it better?
- What treatments have you tried before?
- What are you using now?
If there’s a concern that needs treatment right away — such as a skin biopsy, wart or skin tag removal, or wound culture — we can often take care of it during the same visit. That means fewer referrals and quicker solutions.
- After Your Visit
Before you leave, we’ll help you plan your next appointment, order any labs or imaging, and make sure your prescriptions are refilled before you walk out the door. If you need a refill later, you can always request one easily through our patient portal.
We want to keep things simple, clear, and patient-friendly — because your care should feel easy, not overwhelming.
